Breaking into the Bar can feel overwhelming, the path is complex, the journey is long.

Breakthrough the Bar exists to simplify that journey by providing resources, guidance, and support for aspiring barristers.

As a first-generation university student, from a non-Russell Group background and without connections to the profession, I know first-hand how daunting the process can be. The route to the Bar is often a maze of decisions – from choosing a university, to mooting, scholarships, Inns of Court, qualifying sessions, and ultimately pupillage.

Having navigated this path with little guidance myself, my aim is to make your journey clearer, more supported, and more accessible than mine was.
